I am a secondary trained English teacher with a PGCE and a degree in English Literature. I have over 23 years’ experience teaching across a variety of provisions; mainstream classroom teaching both in the UK and overseas, 1:1 online, small online groups, face to face, iGCSE and GCSE revision and assignment support. I have delivered over 2500 hours of private tuition to many home-educating families alongside those students attending school.
1:1 English lessons:
I plan and provide bespoke English lessons, tailored to suit the needs of each individual young person. I have over 23 years’ experience of teaching students in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 for GCSE and A Level. I have a wealth of experience of AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge exam boards for both Language and Literature along with Functional Skills English.

Small group English lessons:
I also offer small group tuition in both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The KS3 sessions could be suitable for Home Educators who would like their children to experience small group learning.
GCSE revision and practice:
Tailored revision sessions from March to cover exam paper requirements for AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge Language and Literature papers.
Google Classroom packages:
Monthly Google Classroom packages with weekly set tasks, feedback, useful revision links and either a monthly or fortnightly check in.
Writing classes:
These are offered as either 1:1 or small group lessons. Again, these would be tailored to the learners’ individual needs and interests.
Social Skills and Communication Classes:
These can also be 1:1 or small groups, depending on the need. These would also suit learners with Special Needs and/or EHCPs where there is a Social and Emotional or Communication and Interaction need. These sessions would provide a safe space for discussion and informal chats where young people can exchange ideas, discuss relevant topics to their age and ability and give opinions on what we might read in the news or on social media.

Storytelling and Reading:
Small group sessions to foster a love of reading and storytelling. Each week, we will focus on a new story or continue reading and discussing a book we love together. Focus on questioning, discussion, inference, and a love of all things reading!
